Show of the Week: Ten Reasons to Love the Appalachian Trail

Today’s featured video slideshow comes from Mark Griffin. He created some really spectacular special effects using video opacity in this slideshow put together using ProShow Producer. Enjoy the scenery and read below about how Mark created this effect.

Using Opacity in Video
This is something I discovered by accident when using the same video in two different layers. By changing the opacity of one of the videos you can give a ghost like appearance. It works best when there is not a lot of background movement, otherwise you may notice a bump or jump in the video stream of background objects. This is accomplished by first taking a background video of some scenery. Next, have someone walk into the scenary. With ProShow Producer you can adjust the opacity of the person walking into the scene and create the ghost like appearance. – Mark Griffin.
